Summer Work for Grades 4-8
1. Read a biography of a famous scientist or inventor. Have your parents sign a note stating that you read the book. Note should include the book's title, author, publisher, and copyright date. Book should be at your reading level and age appropriate.
2. Visit a science museum or science center over the summer. Send me a postcard addressed to St. Mary's School, or take a picture of yourself at your location and bring it to school the first week we are back. Some suggestions of great places to visit are:
Museum of Natural History
Air and Space Museum
National Zoo
Franklin Institute in Philadelphia
Kennedy Space Center in Florida
