7TH GRADE READING AND WRITING EXPECTATIONS

Students should be reading a minimum of 200 minutes per week between the classroom and home (30 minutes per day, 7 days a week). Reading selections from your child’s other subjects or teachers are acceptable as long as they require 20-30 minutes of sustained reading. Reading should be tracked on the READING LOG daily and signed by the parent/guardian at the end of the week. READING LOGS WILL BE DUE EACH THURSDAY beginning on 09-02-10. Students will also be expected to produce 5 full pages of of writing in their notebook each week. Two classroom days will be devoted to writing, but some writing may need to be finished at home to meet the minimum requirements
