Welcome to 7th grade geography.We will begin at the beginning with an introduction to World Geography and Cultures. Absolute and Relative location will be discussed and practiced.

EXTRA READING |
Throughout the course of this year, we will be supplementing our textbook reading with 3 novels. There are class sets for this and we will begin during the second semester. |

CURRENT EVENTS-
|
Current Events is mandatory in all classes. You will be responsible for reporting at least 4 times during the school year. All Current Events articles must be at least 12 sentences long. Remember, look for articles that are newsworthy and ones that you understand yourself. Articles taken from the internet may be used ONLY to cover material that is discussed in class. All other articles must be from a newspaper or magazine. One package of xerox paper can be substituted for one of the current events. This can be done only one time the whole year.

Homework
|
Homework, although not given often is graded. The class policy on homework is that 3 missed homeworks in a quarter results in an N on the interim or report card. 4 missed assignments results in a U on the report card. A U will keep a child from participating in a school sport or activity, such as a field trip. Please check Pinnacle to see if your child is completing assignments.

Assignments
|
All class and homework assignments must be turned in on white looseleaf paper. No colored paper or spiral paper will be accepted. Blue or black ink or pencil is acceptable.
